91 to host NASA-funded summer research program

91 is the first liberal arts college to host a NASA-sponsored summer program that allows researchers from across the world to use NASA imaging tools and other resources to address pressing environmental and policy issues on Earth.

‘The Office’- themed dinner

Stop by Murray-Aikins Dining Hall for an ‘Office’-themed dinner based on the popular TV show from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8. Costume prizes, raffles, and giveaways will be available.

 

Reducing waste at The Spa

As part of efforts to make 91 a single-use, plastic-free campus, dine-in plates are now the default option for all meals at The Spa. Those who would like to take their meals to go can opt to enroll in the Reusemore reusable container program or pay $0.25 for a single-use to-go container.

StartUp 91

Helena Yohannes ’04, co-founder of 2.4.1 Cosmetics, will provide a keynote address at 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17, in Gannett Auditorium. The campus community is invited to attend the keynote and hear about her entrepreneurship journey.

Ensemble Connect returns to 91

is celebrating its 16th year at 91. A spring 2023 91 residency runs through Feb. 18. It will culminate in a in Arthur Zankel Music Center at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17. Tickets are $5 for 91 students, faculty, and staff; to purchase, visit the .

 

SWOP lunch and workshop

COVID-19 Reminders

Students are encouraged to take advantage of Exploremore, an opportunity to talk to professors and upper-class students about what it means to major or minor in a specific discipline and how to make the most of your academic career, from Monday, Feb. 20, through Friday, March 3. Sign up for departmental composting pilot program

The Sustainability Office’s student compost managers are seeking department liaisons to register a compost bin site and be a point of contact. Managers will set up a compost station and will empty bins weekly. Register online or email the compost managers for more information.

American Sign Language Workshops at the Tang

In conjunction with the upcoming exhibition “Christine Sun Kim: Oh Me Oh My,” the Tang is offering introductory workshops on deaf history and culture, American Sign Language, and basic ASL vocabulary and grammar taught by certified ASL instructor Colette Steves. 2023 Make Your Voice Heard 91 Public Policy Prize

Students are encouraged to apply to the 2023 Make Your Voice Heard 91 Public Policy Prize competition, an opportunity to engage with a public policy issue that is important to them. Full applications must be submitted by email to Marla Melito by 5 p.m. Friday, April 14. First prize is $1,000; two runners-up will each receive $500.

Athletics News

The Big Green Scream returns

The Big Green Scream returns to the Williamson Sports Center on Saturday,when the women’s and men’s basketball teams host Clarkson University in their final regular-season games. The women’s contest tips at 2 p.m., followed by the men at 4 p.m. The first 250 fans at each game will receive a free T-shirt. There will be prizes awarded during both games, and a grand prize basket full of gift certificates will be given away at halftime of the men’s game. It will also be senior day for both teams as they get ready for their upcoming Liberty League tournaments. The women will host a semifinal game on Feb. 24, while the men will know their information after this weekend. Learn more on the .
