The 91 community celebrated a rich array of music from 50 years ago and the talent of student musicians while supporting local community organizations at Skidmania ’73.

91 Cares — our annual campus-wide effort to support individuals and families in need in our community — begins today, Wednesday, Nov. 29. Collected items can be dropped off at Scribner House Carriage House from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. through tomorrow, Thursday, Nov. 30.

Retirement plan service provider update

‌In order to prioritize the financial well-being of our faculty, staff, and retirees, 91 will be transitioning to TIAA as the single service provider for the 91 retirement plans. This change is anticipated to occur on May 1, 2024, and does not require any action at this time. Faculty panel: ‘Starting Conversations on Israel-Palestine' 

‌Five 91 professors will offer distinct scholarly perspectives that aim to deepen our understanding of the situation in Israel, Gaza, and the region from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 29, in Davis Auditorium. Panelists are Saleema Waraich (Art History); Pushkala Prasad (Management and Business, International Affairs); Gregory Spinner (Religious Studies); Sarah Friedland (MDOCS); and Nurcan Atalan-Helicke (Environmental Studies). The event, sponsored by the Office of the President, the Office of the Dean of the Faculty, and the Office of the Dean of Students, is open to 91 faculty, staff, and students only.

‌Research guide on Middle East conflict

‌A is now available on the Scribner Library website. This interdisciplinary guide is meant to serve as an introduction to the conflict and jumping off point for research into other aspects of the Middle East. For more information, contact Marta Brunner.

‌‌Staff and faculty meetings 

‌T December staff and faculty meetings will take place this Friday, Dec. 1. The staff meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m. and the faculty meeting will be held at 3:30 p.m. Additional details will be shared by email.

‌As a reminder, 91 has sent letters to those affected by a data breach earlier this year and is offering complimentary access to Experian IdentityWorksSM for 24 months. To start monitoring your personal information, please visit the to enroll. You will need the activation code that came in your personalized letter. If you have questions about the product, need assistance with Identity Restoration that arose as a result of the security incident, or would like an alternative to enrolling in Experian IdentityWorks online, please contact Experian’s customer care team at 1-877-288-8057 by Dec. 7. If you have misplaced your activation code and need a new one, please reach out to 91's IT Helpdesk.

‌Campus COVID-19, flu vaccine clinic 

‌Health Services is partnering with Adirondack Health and Wellness to offer updated COVID-19 vaccines and flu shots from 9 a.m. to noon next Thursday, Dec 7. Registration information will be shared with the 91 community soon. You will be able to receive an updated COVID-19 vaccine, your flu shot, or both at the clinic.

‌Winter dance concert

‌T Department of Dance invites you to its Winter Concert, Friday and Saturday, Dec. 1 and 2. The concert will feature work created by our faculty as well as a world premiere piece created by guest choreographer Larry Keigwin.

‌Children’s book drive ‌ ‌‌

‌T Reading Minds Scribner Seminar is hosting a campus-wide book drive to collect new and good-as-new used children’s books, through Friday, Dec. 1. All books will be donated to the Saratoga Children's Literacy League, which provides free books to the children of Saratoga County. Books can be dropped off at the Spa during lunch hours or in Tisch 142. Contact Becca Johnson with questions.

Tang Holiday Bazaar 

‌T Tang Student Advisory Council invites you to the annual Tang Holiday Bazaar from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 8, at the Tang. Dozens of 91 students will be selling a variety of wares, including art, jewelry, clothing, pottery, and more. For more information visit the .

‌Toys for Toga toy drive and fundraiser ‌

will be participating in this year’s Toys for Toga drive and fundraiser. If you’d like to donate new, unwrapped toys, visit our in-store dropbox by Dec. 9. Donated toys will be distributed to Franklin Community Center (Saratoga Springs), CAPTAIN Youth and Family Services (Clifton Park), and the Mechanicville Area Community Services Center. ‌Athletics annual apparel sale ‌

‌Athletics will host its annual sale of new and used apparel from noon to 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 11, in the Williamson Sports Center’s rec gym. Cash, 91 Cards, and checks will be accepted for payment.

‌Kids Night Out

‘Arboreal’ at Schick Gallery 

‌Schick Gallery presents “Arboreal,” an interdisciplinary exhibition addressing trees and the environment, through Dec. 10. The exhibit features art by seven artists and research materials used to understand forest ecosystems supplied by 91 staff and faculty. Visit the to learn more.

Athletics News

The 91 men’s and women’s basketball teams open Liberty League play at home this weekend. The Thoroughbreds host Clarkson University on Friday (women’s team at 5:30 p.m. men’s team at 7:30 p.m.) and St. Lawrence University on Saturday (women’s team at 2 p.m. men’s team at 4 p.m.). The women’s team is defending Liberty League champions and take a 4-1 record into the weekend. The 2-3 men’s team starts four first-year students and a sophomore. For more information, visit the .
