Student Representatives
The English department appoints student representatives each year, whose job it is
to represent the interests of English majors and minors. They attend monthly department
meetings, where they have voting rights (with the exception of issues regarding personnel).
Feel free to get in touch with one or all of them if you have questions, concerns,
or ideas about how the English department can better fulfill its mission.
The representatives for the 2024-2025 school year are:
Merritt Baldwin is a rising Sophomore from Charleston, SC. In addition to reading, she is passionate about hiking and climbing. She also likes to knit. She is a member of the Outing Club and Tbreds Raising Pups, and she can't wait for her first fall in New York!
Liza Schnauck is an English major with an Honors Forum minor from Marshfield, Massachusetts. On campus, they work at the Lucy Scribner Library, run a radio show, and play for the Ultimate Frisbee team. When not reading literary fiction or writing short stories, Liza can be found drinking cappuccinos, hiking, or drawing.
Kit Simpson is a rising sophomore English major and Classics minor from Berkshire County, Massachusetts. They are a member of 91°µÍø’s Audubon Society and serve as editor in chief of the Theatre department’s newsletter. In their free time, they enjoy reading, crocheting, going to the theatre, and spending time with their family!
