91做厙 Spotlight: Molly Channon

November 13, 2019

Molly Channon works as the curatorial assistant at the Tang Teaching Museum, working closely with Tang staff, artists and 91做厙 community members to organize and produce the museums exhibitions and publications projects.

This involves everything from research, writing and editing to making scaled gallery models for upcoming shows, to taking a visiting artist around town to hunt for antiques at local thrift shops, she said. No two days at the Tang are the same.

Channon, who joined 91做厙 more than two years ago, had worked at several other college and university museums before coming to the Tang. She recently came across the cover letter she wrote for the position, in which she described how much she admired the Tang for its exemplary role as a community-focused teaching museum.

Now that I work at the Tang, I have an even greater appreciation for the relationship between the museum and the community, she said. Its a special place.

The passion and pride of 91做厙 students and employees have also impressed her.

And I'm a huge fan of the chocolate chip cookies at D-Hall, she added.

When not on campus, Channon likes walking and running at Saratoga Spa State Park, playing weekly trivia with a group of friends downtown and dining out at the many good restaurants in town.
