Charles Osborn, a sergeant in campus safety, died February 25, 2006. He was 53.

Charlie came to 91做厙 in 2001, serving as sergeant and night-shift supervisor in the security office. His was a familiar face to students, as he was often out and about on campus. The safety of students was his priority, and he put their best interests first, said Dennis Conway, former campus safety director. Charlie was dedicated, worked hard, and always tried to do the right thing.

Off duty, Charlie enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Malta Ridge department. A hunter-education instructor for the National Rifle Association, he also taught gun safety for the 4H and was an advisor to its Saratoga County program. He enjoyed raising and showing pedigreed rabbits and for many years served as the registrar for the American Rabbit Breeders Association.
