Bay Area Revisited
November 7 - December 17, 2003

Gallery Talk, November 11th, 3:30pm
Featuring Erin Fitzpatrick, Assistant VP of Salander-O'Reilly Galleries, NYC

This exhibition presents drawings, paintings and sculpture by major artists from the San Francisco Bay Area including ELMER BISCHOFF, ROBERT De NIRO, SR., STEPHEN De STAEBLER, RICHARD DIEBENKORN, NATHAN OLIVEIRA, and DAVID PARK. Thriving in the Bay Area of San Francisco since the mid 50's, this contemporary group grew in reaction to both West Coast and East Coast Abstract Expressionism, infusing the movement with meaning through the introduction of figurative imagery. What began as a local phenomenon came to have an important impact on the history of American art.

This exhibition was organized in cooperation with the Franklin Parrasch Gallery, NYC, and Salander-O'Reilly Galleries, NYC. Works were also borrowed from Nathan Oliveira, Barbara Salander, and the University at Albany, SUNY. An exhibition brochure is available.
