ENTRIES:
Each student may submit up to three original works in the medium of his/her choice.
Work of a fragile nature is submitted at the artist's risk. Entries should be submitted
ready for display. Two-dimensional work should be properly stretched, framed, matted
or mounted with backing. All submissions that do not meet these requirements will
be considered at the discretion of the juror. Matted work must be securely mounted
with mats attached to work. Loose glass or Plexi may accompany work for L-pin installation.
Wet paintings or sculpture will not be accepted. Diptychs and triptychs will be judged
intact: individual parts will not be accepted without the inclusion of the other(s).
Charcoal and pastel drawings must be spray-fixed to prevent transfer. Backs of works
must be completely clean.
ENTRY FORMS:
Will be available in the gallery at time of drop off. They must be filled out and
submitted to gallery assistant.
LABELS:
Labels are to be securely attached to the upper left hand corner of the back of each
work. Labels should be clearly visible on three-dimensional work. Please use labels
attached (also available in Schick Art Gallery). Entry forms (in gallery) are to be
filled out when work is submitted.
AWARDS:
Over $1000 in awards and gift certificates will be awarded by the juror for outstanding
work and will be announced at the opening.
PLEASE NOTE:
All work is submitted at the risk of the student. The Schick Art Gallery will take
every reasonable precaution and care against loss, destruction or vandalism, but cannot
insure works submitted for judging. Works that are selected for exhibition will be
insured for the duration of the exhibit. Insurance value must be indicated on the
label provided; value of each work cannot exceed $300. Works sold must remain for
duration of exhibit. Schick Art Gallery does not retain a commission on sales.
We look forward to your participation in this exciting exhibit.
