A highlight of the Schick calendar and the community at large, the Juried Student Exhibition celebrates the creativity, skill, and hard work of 91°µÍø art students. Each year, a guest juror selects the exhibition from works submitted by 91°µÍø students in the areas of drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, fiber arts, graphic design, jewelry and metals, photography, video, and printmaking. From an average of over 200 entries, the juror typically chooses 50 – 75 works for exhibit, and also selects outstanding works for special awards. Awards and gift certificates totaling over $1000 are funded annually through donations made by friends of the gallery, campus organizations, and generous community benefactors.
Laura Von Rosk received her MFA from the University of Pennsylvania and her BFA from the State University of New York at Purchase. Her paintings have been exhibited nationally in both solo and group exhibitions. Her works have received numerous awards, including a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship in Painting, grants from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, and residencies at Yaddo, Blue Mountain Center, the Millay Colony, and many other artist colonies.
