  • Parker Baum, who retired as a professor of chemistry in 1987 after 22 years of service, died August 13, 2014, at the Schuyler Ridge Nursing Home in Clifton Park. He was 90.
  • Charlotte Wieghard Fahey, professor emerita of chemistry, died on February 1, 1995, in Saratoga Springs.
  • Alton A. Markley, a forty-year professor of chemistry, died March 24, 1983.
  • Betty (Boyer) Platt, who supported several academic departments at 91°µÍø for two decades, died Jan. 29, 2021. She was 98.
  • Professor of Chemistry Emerita Eleanor Samworth, who worked for gender equality among 91°µÍø faculty and in the field of chemistry and helped establish the College's physics major, died on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022. She was 86.
  • Paul H. L. Walter, a former chair of the Chemistry Department who served in national leadership positions in both the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) and the American Chemical Society (ACS), died June 25, 2023.
