Registration Health Hold
If students taking 6 credits or more* have not submitted documentation that meets 91°µÍø and New York State (NYS) health requirements by the appropriate deadline, a Health Hold will be placed on the student’s registrar account. This will prevent a student from being able to register for the next semester’s classes until requirements are met.
Prior to a Health Hold being placed, a student will be contacted several times via messages in their health portal. These messages will automatically send e-mail and text message alerts.
To prevent a Health Hold, students must submit adequate documentation of:
- Required vaccinations (measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR), meningitis, tetanus) OR religious or medical exemption with notification of approval from Health Services
- Medical provider documentation of physical exam (within 1 year of matriculation date)
- Health History Form
- Tuberculosis screening/testing
- Consent for Care and Privacy Form
For more details on requirements please see information on the following webpages Incoming Student and Immunization Requirements &²Ô²ú²õ±è; &²Ô²ú²õ±è;
Removing a Health Hold
Students who submit appropriate documentation approved by Health Services will have their Health Hold released either by Health Services or the Registrar. A daily report is run by Health Services starting the day prior to each registration period (Fall and Spring) through the registration period to identify students who have met requirements and can have their Health Hold removed. Students will be informed by phone, email in person at the time of an appointment in Health Services, when requirements have been met and when the Health Hold will be removed.
*This applies to employees who are taking credits, as well as students who are studying abroad.
